DINNER

Dinner, my FAVORITE time of day. I LOVE when my kids tell me "EWWWW". I LOVE when they make faces at me. I LOVE that after I've slaved over their meal they thank me like this...
Harvest Soup...it's yummy.
Don't let them fool you.
C'mon...doesn't this look delish? Don't hide Kaleb, EMBRACE it.
"Maybe if I avoid my soup long enough it will go away."
Rice Crispies...
THANK GOODNESS!
There is NO dinner they can't remedy.

As you can see, even Ben enjoyed his rice crispies!

(uh, Ben...you've got a little snap, crackle, pop right about there...)

The rice krispies look to be the best part of that meal to me!! I think I would have to agree with Kaleb!

Hee Hee I am sure my kids would of reacted the same way...they turned their noses up to minestrone soup earlier this week.

Love that picture of Ben!

Why we had that day yesterday. I made corn chowder thinking that Ben loved it all these years, given the fact that he gave the the recipe. Turns out only 2 of my 5 kids like it and Ben "I've never really like it" What then why did you tell me about it etc. And how you had it every Halloween it was a tradition. Thought you wanted to carry it on.... Uh NOOOO was the reply.
Oh miss comunitcation for all these years. Isn't it great :)
Left over corn chowder anyone?

HA! I had to laugh when I read this post. That soup seems oddly familiar.....glad the kids liked the rice crispies:)

That soup is looking a little thickish... I might have hesitated, too. But if he LOVED it once he got past it, send the recipe on down. It's not exactly looking like the Springfield version with the toasted sweet potato shavings for a garnish... was it as tasty? I've never had experience with a migraine, but I'm thinking the crank is from up top in that region. Maybe a good bowl of thickish soup would help.
(Even tho' I'm grumpy, Tom's comment made me laugh!)

I know that feeling when you have slaved over the stove and is all you kids can say is yuck. Its frustrating. Cold cereal is a popular item in our family!

Haha! I loved this post!

Your kids are so fun to see. That harvest soup makes me laugh. Mainly, because we eat like that almost every night. I think my kids are turning into squash.

That post is hilarious. Do your kids get in on the act...because either you have your camera ready at every opportune moment....or your kids rock, like their mom. That made me laugh.

paula - actually i just happened to have my camera sitting on the counter at dinner time. always prepared, right?:)

Gee, that soup is a bit thick--almost like the pea soup that I make. I'm sure they'd love that--NOT! Maybe a little thinner with a dollop of sour cream and crumbled bacon might have had them like it better. Hard to call with kiddos. I think some kiddos would eat cereal three times a day if they could instead of something nourishing. This is the season for soup, so kids beware--Mom is cooking up a new brew for you.

Wow, sounds like my house and so your saying they don't get better as they get older. CRAP! I was banking on that!~
