ANGELS ON THIS SIDE OF THE VEIL

...Remember the quote about angels from my previous post? Well today I'm going to elaborate a little more on that subject.
*****
"Not all angels are from the other side of the veil"
(Elder Holland)
*****
Let me tell you about two of these angels. Their names are Al and Ricky. They own "Al's Auto Shop" in town. They fix my car....a LOT! They never charge me. Okay they do charge me...in cinnamon rolls. They are committed to keeping my car up and running so that I always have transportation for Ben. They LOVE Ben. I LOVE them. Need I remind you of my brake troubles from this past weekend? Well today I brought my car to Al's. It was in the shop all morning. It came out with a new brake line, an oil change, studded snow tires for the upcoming winter (they take care of me like that), a new inspection sticker and rotated tires. I came out with a bill for
...cinnamon rolls.
*****
Guess what I'm making tonight?

Can I bring my car to you for a weekend and you can take in for a little TLC?

Just kidding, that is awesome that you have angels in your corner taking care of some of your needs.

YOU are worth it and you are loved!

I will make a trade, cheesecake for cinnamon rolls.

you might "live in NH" and you might not "get out much", but you've got it good over there.
It makes me SO HAPPY to hear stories like this. Especially when they happen to deserving people. There are so many angels on earth, I loved his talk!

Oh, yum!! Bring those cinnamon rolls to your Mom's on the 7th of November! Glad you have your car all set for the winter. Wish I had an auto repair shop like that. I do have Jamie and end up just paying for parts which is o.k. Had to have a new exhaust system replaced--Toyota would have charged over $2000! Jamie's charge was $600 for the system and no labor. I do have to make toll house cookies for him at some point. And yes, you do have angels.

Glad you got your car fixed. It was mighty nice of them to do all of that and only ask for cinnamon rolls in return. I'm sure they will be blessed for their kindness.

Hi Becky, I am visiting from Jenny's blog. I have been lurking here since I found Jenny...I love reading your thoughts, and seeing your pictures. Some of them have made me wish I still lived in MASS and could hang out with you guys, it looks like you have lots of fun together.

I think it is so great that you have angels to look after you. I am sure that they will be very blessed for their kindness.

And you must make some mean cinnamon rolls! Feel free to share the recipe. :)

I love/am scared to hear the stories (yours actually draw me to within one inch from the computer screen) , but you are living them. Which I know is bitter sweet, but with an attitude like yours, it is no wonder that you can "see" the angels around you. They wouldn't BE there if you didn't believe in them, and hold a strong faith that someone is watching out for you! These memories will form your own inspiring talk someday.
Till then,, happy baking

Becky! How fun to hear from you! I have to admit that I found your blog off of Zach's and have been faithfully reading it for a few weeks now. I, too, love your spiritual thoughts, your thoughts on life, and how your blog gets my own thoughts thinkin'.

Happy baking!

WOW!! I need to find a car place like that in Phoenix! No, I wanted to tell you that there are angels here to answer our prayers and comfort us. I believe we both have a special angel watching over us, too. wink wink!!

Okay, I have met the Al-ster. He holds a special place in his heart for Becky because my treatment was good, but not that good ;-) So happy about the stud job. You're worth every bite. Amy Jo

Perhaps a cinnamon roll workshop is in order??? I've never had one of yours, but I've heard they are well worth the trade for car repairs! I'm glad they are taking care of you! They've helped my parents out a few times as well (years ago)!
