THANKYOU

Tonight we went to our local fire department (and police department) to deliver some yummy cinnamon rolls and to thank our local heroes for all that they do for us. (thanks for the idea LL) As a treat to our family the firefighters gave us a personal tour of the fire department. (Kaleb still has a fever and wasn't able to go) The firefighters graced Ben with his very own hat.
Two of the three fire fighters on duty tonight.
Stevie sliding down the pole.
Ben checking out the truck.
Huh? What on earth is this???

THANK YOU, WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

I'm so glad you guys did this and had a good experience. Our outing was a bit of a let down...the fire fighters were out and the guy that took the treats was less that thrilled. I think he was confused (probably wondering why ALL THESE KIDS were in his office) and why the heck strangers were bringing treats.
ANYWAY. we walked out of there and McKay said, "OK?!?!" oh well. It makes me so happy that you guys did it. Tradition!
great hat Ben!

What a wonderful thing to do for the firefighters--they do put their lives on the line for us, that's for sure. Maybe the one who LL was talking about was in another world and didn't understand the reason behind the thank you treats. Oh well. Loved Ben's hat! And Stevie--she is such a comic. I'll never forget 9/11 either. My dear friend Margaret had called me to wish me a Happy Birthday and told me to watch the TV, that the WTC was hit by a plane--then, while we were talking, the other one was hit. I traumatic and tragic day in the life of our country. A friend of mine has a son who was on the 77th floor of the 2nd building and fortunately was one of the lucky ones who got out. He ran down the 77 flights of stairs and out of the building. God was with him, that's for sure. Thanks for sharing your experience at the fire department and your pictures. Love, Aunt Shirley
