MY NEW BEST FRIEND

Dear Mom,

I know I just got back from the Dr.'s office where I was told that my iron was really, really low and we had a nice conversation about my new diet and how it should contain lots and lots of "iron rich" foods. Well...after doing much research on my handy-dandy computer, I realized how much a diet rich in chocolate could help me with my iron problem. I got straight to work on my new diet by eating a WHOLE cadbury chocolate bar for lunch, and you know what? It even had ALMONDS in it - total BONUS. I'm feeling much better already!

(or is that the seratonin?)

Your loving daughter,

Becky

I've always heard your mom was a firm (no pun) believer in FIBER.
I didn't know she felt strong about IRON too. She's a good mom, worried about your health.
Good for you, taking care of your body...eating chocolate and all.
Now, you must be sure to get lots of rest (tomorrow IS nap day) Now that's a healthy life style.

You are absolutely correct, chocolate does have iron in it, thats why I always eat it that "time of the month"! Its a must! Hey, we gotta use any excuse to eat it, right? Im glad you found yours!!! Eat away, and feel good about it, you deserve it!!
Love you!

With all of my iron woes, no one EVER told me that chocolate could help!!! Guess I'd better increase my intake substantially!!! Thanks Dr. Orton! I feel better already!

Your Stevie is a ham, remides me of Sammy. As for chocolate my buds must be changing because I have been craving chocolate, albeit really good chocolate, and it is usually not my thing. I am glad it makes you feel better and helps the iron too. Now if they could only find a dietary postive about cinnamon gummy bears, things would be really good. :) Love ya Stacie

Oh I am with you on the chocolate especially chocolate with almonds. When I eat chocolate I think I am getting a better benefit with the almonds in them. Doesn't chocolate make you feel so much better and make all of your worries go away for the moment!!

Um...and don't forget that chocolate is a vegetable too. It comes from the cocoa BEAN. And I was always taught that beans were vegetables. Weren't you? You are going to be one healthy mamma! :0)

Did you know Adam and I went to Belgium (the chocolate country)when we first got married? We were in chocolate paradise. Reading this post makes me want to go back!

When I was in the hospital, they had to do a blood infusion and they told me I needed to eat lotts of iron. My friend brought me chocolates in the hospital and my sweet husband, Brian, said that I only needed to eat 100 pieces to get my iron for the day. I said that sounded fabulous, but the diabetic coma I would go into may not be worth it... or maybe it would??
