BLESSED

Today my son's physical therapist was over working on Ben. Her name is Denise and we love her to death. Some of my family members have met her and think she is pretty swell too. I love having Denise come twice a week because we have such great conversations about life, family, religion, politics and many other topics. (of course she is all hands on Ben while we are chatting...) So during our conversation today, she asked me a profound question. One that made me think and ponder. The question was this..."If you could describe your life in one word, what would that word be? I thought long and hard about it. After much pondering I decided that the way I would describe my life is "Blessed". I can honestly say that I feel like my life is blessed in so many ways. Don't get me wrong, there are moments and days where life feels out of control but for the most part I am happy and feel such a balance. Here are the reasons that I feel my life is blessed:

I am a daughter of God who loves me and I love him. I have great parents (and inlaws too) that gave me such a wonderful childhood. I have a close relationship with my brothers and sisters and even though I don't see them as much as I would like, they mean the world to me. I married a fantastic and funloving husband who does so much for me and also allows me to be who I am. We have 4 amazing children that seem to be headed in the right direction. Most importantly, I have the gospel in my life that opens up avenues I never would have traveled had it not been for my parents and their decision to join the church many years ago. On a smaller scale, we have a house to call our own and we have two cars to get us where we need to be. For the most part we don't want for things, my husband has a terrific job that he loves so much. We have an awesome ward that feels like our family away from family. They look over us and take care of us when things are hard. We have developed concrete friends out in the community that we deeply love.

I could go on and on but I think you see the point. I now ask you (the reader) if you could describe your life in one word, what would it be? Please leave your answer in the comment section. It will be fun to see what everyone comes up with.

A friend of mine read your blog, she emailed me after and said "She is awesome. I can't believe how much energy she must have and I think that's amazing that she is almost a black belt. What a great lady!"
So, my life in one word....I'm thinking the same word you used, blessed! but for variety, I'll go with HAPPY! I'd be lying if I said my one word description didn't change on occassion (some days I would say overwhelming) :)
This really was a great blog, a good reminder of our blessings!
Thanks

If I had to pick one word to describe my life, I think it would be blessed as well. I have the gospel, a great husband and son. After that everything else is just icing on the cake. I do have my moments as well, when I feel stressed and frustrated. When I compare my life now to what it was before I had the gospel, I can't imagine being anywhere else. We do have things we want and hope to accomplish. I hope they are in the Lord's plan for us. I have been able to go to the temple and be sealed to my family forever, and I can go back whenever I am able to. Life is good!

I wish that I could feel the same way about our ward. It's tough to be a square peg sometimes.

Joyful! That is my word and that is my life in EVERY sense of the word. Joy is the best companion and friend I could ever ask for. She has given me 5 beautiful children and while life can be challenging at times... in the end we always end up laughing. Life is better than great with Joy at my side.
