FREAK OF NATURE

These pictures are of my parents. The reason for posting them besides the fact that I LOVE them dearly is to tell you a little about my mother. She's a fantastic lady! So many good memories growing up in her house and so many humiliating stories from my childhood. She loved nothing better than to embarrass me! (in a good way...) She'd be the one to get on the phone if I happened to be talking to a boy and sing "can you bake a cherry pie? Becky dear oh Becky my?" in her lovely sing-songy voice. Or how about the times she would pick me up at school and start crazy dancing in front of my friends. Oh and all those times she would chase me around the house in her scary way. Ahh the memories, the painful, torturesome memories. As much as I love my mom there is one thing I cannot figure out...(look closely at her pictures) HOW COME HER HAIR IS NOT GRAY YET? I call her a...

(and I say this lovingly)

What the heck? I don't think she would appreciate me divulging her age publicly so I'll just tell you this...she has kids that are 43 years old and younger - you do the math. This woman has NEVER DYED her hair - "too much maintenance" she tells me.

If only I were to be so lucky. (sigh...)

(I LOVE YOU MOM!)

I don't know, but I'm guessing it has something to do with your Dad making her laugh all the time...at least that's the way I remember it. Or maybe it was all the fun games (Sardines) that we used to hear about your family playing. Or maybe all the toilet-papering that has kept her young. It probably all adds up to gray-less hair...we should all learn a little from your family.

WHAT?!?! GREG, my friend Greg has come to YOU now? This cheapens our relationship. Greg, how could you?!? Well, I guess he recognizes our skills Becky and he needs our writing help. Honestly, I think you need to submit the story of your mom and the book exchange you guys have...I think that's so cute!
Your mom is an amazing woman, her posterity is proof of that. (posterity, that's a big word for me...I'm BRILLIANT) :) i guess what I'm trying to say is, she's raised a FEW GOOD MEN and WOMEN!!!

I will also agree that your mom is a great woman and has been a influential example to me in my life. My favorite memory of your mom is when we arrived for seminary one cold winter morning and she told us we were going to "hike to Pretoria"?? We then went marching and stomping around your backyard for a little while while she sang "We are hiking to Pretoria" over and over. I still don't know what or where Pretoria is, but I will never forget how hard we were all laughing. She is a great lady.

She is hysterical, I remember those stories and I want her secret to no gray hair. My secret is this magic potion my hairdresser puts into my hair, it's great.

Becky, your mom is great and you are growing up to be just like her. You are fun and loving and always looking out for others no matter how much you have on your own plate. I am gretful for the opportunity to get to know her these past few years.

Thank you for sharing.

Your mom sounds awesome! Sadly, I've already found a couple of gray hairs and I'm not even 30! Kudos to your mom! They say stress causes them. I want to know her secret recipe for staying cool through the stress.

Hi Becky,

You know how grateful I am to be part of the Hutchins' family, now almost 28 years. I love your family. I remember when I fractured my wrist in 2001, your Mom came all the way to JP to clean house for me and brought us meals for a week. With all that she had to do for her own immediate family, she found time to help her sister-in-law. Now for the now gray hair--I have a friend in Vermont who doesn't have a gray hair in her head and I don't know why--she doesn't use color either. Mine is white and has been for years--I've had patients (when I was working) ask what color I put in my hair. I told them that the Lord gave me that color. They would die to have my hair--oh well, guess it is the luck of the draw.
Love you bunches.

Great tribute to wonderful people. Both of your parents are amazing and the Morgans were blessed to spend the short time we did in their company (and with your family.) I am very jealous of your mom's hair color and her hair. I use to have very thick hair, but it is getting thin and gray, what can one do?
