KALEB'S BROWN BELT TEST

The countdown begins. After 5 long years and 10 belts later, Kaleb is on a ten month program to earn his black belt. It's called "recommended black". It's the belt that you see him snapping in the picture above. This is quite an accomplishment. There are only 3 other kids that have gone on to be black belts since he has been going. It's not easy - a really big commitment but hopefully worth it in the end.

At the end of the graduation ceremony, the kids fold their belts and lay them in front of them. When Dashi says "go", they make a wish and throw them up in the air.

MY FRIEND AABHEER

I have a new best friend. (don't be jealous) His name is Aabheer. He's from southern India and his favorite food is a "mango pickle". I met him last night. We bonded. (Four hours on the phone can do that to you.) You see, he's from "Dell Tech Support". It's a mutual friendship. I needed him and he needed me. I needed him because my computer was broken, my pictures and videos apparently lost forever. He needed me to keep him employed. See how this works? It wasn't an easy friendship, there was a language barrier. We worked through it and came out stronger. We laughed, we cried, we even fought. In the end...my computer was fixed and we both shouted for joy! He got to go home and I went to bed. Now if you'll excuse me...I'm off in search of a "mango pickle" to eat in his honor.

I'm back from Time Out...it was hard...I barely survived.

I got to spend it with these 3 lovely ladies.
(apparently they were naughty too) This is a facade - we really are not enjoying ourselves...no...not one bit.
In time out they make you drive down one way roads the wrong way...SCARY!

This is my BSIL! (beautiful sister-n-law) I think I will continue to be naughty...just so I can hang out with these three gals again. We had a blast! Too much laughing, chocolate consumption and good times. Thanks Rachael, Laura and Jenny!
