LAKEFRONT CONNECTIONS...

Yesterday we got to spend a most AMAZING day at the lake.  We used a friend's lake front property that came equipped with all kinds of fun water toys.  Steve was on duty and so he didn't get to play with us, but certainly got even with me at the beginning of the day.  It was the first time I had been to our friend's house...(he's a good friend of Steve's from the workplace who was out for the day)...and Steve gave me directions.  We were all unloaded and sitting in the back yard when Steve dropped by.  I was running back to my car to get some stuff that I needed when I saw him pulling into the driveway.  As I'm reaching inside my car, he rolls down his car window and says, "Becky!  You're at the WRONG HOUSE!"  "WHAT?!?" I ask.  "You're at the wrong house...it's the one next to this house,"  he tells me.  My heart started beating really fast and I had visions of the home owner coming home to find all these strangers in their back yard.  My face went white and I just about rounded the crowd up to move when he casually says..."KIDDING!"  Uh huh.  Funny Steve.  17 years of marriage and I STILL fall for his pranks.  My poor heart.  After that we endured a 20 minute deluge and I was fearing that our perfect lake day would be cut short.  Thankfully the sun did come back out and we all lived happily ever after.

SCOUT CAMP

A little bit of this and a little bit of that....
Shooting at the range.
a little snorkling down by the lake.
How 'bout a karate pose while IN the snorkle gear.
(what?!?)
Kaleb was fortunate to attend camp WITH his three cousins.
(two are eagle scouts)
Lunch with Porter
Getting ready to Canoe
Going out on his own.
Porter and Kaleb...best buds.
More cousin time...the four hung around a lot.
Kaleb did his Wilderness Survival merit badge...it's not an easy badge to obtain.  This picture was taken the morning of his return.  He was TIRED!
This was taken shortly after the above picture.  SEE how tired he was?  Slept right through breakfast.
Kaleb and Porter hiking.
Kaleb helped Porter with his orienteering.
Josh Simpson, Porter and Kaleb
The BACH's made a visit up to camp to see the boys.  It was a GREAT surprise to see them.
Closing ceremonies.

Just for the record, I sent Kaleb with an outfit for every day plus an extra one.  He came home with FIVE clean outfits.  I don't even want to KNOW how many times his toothbrush was NOT used.

RETURN FROM SCOUT CAMP

It was a quick "Hi Mom"
and he disappeared upstairs.
I went up to hear all about his adventures,
and found him like this:
Last night I got a phone call from the camp nurse.
He said Kaleb cut his foot pretty bad.
He probably could have had stitches but said he'd be okay without them.
It took awhile to stop the bleeding.
He'll be sore for a few days but eventually it will heal.
We can't to hear about more of his adventures.
Stay tuned...

WHILE HE'S AWAY...

(working hard)
We PLAY!
(someone's got to do it)
During the summer,
my mom faithfully calls EVERY day to ask:
"Are you at the beach?"
And every day I faithfully say,
"Yes mom...we're at the beach."
(you would be too if you lived here)

DEAR MOM...

Can you believe I eat "ZINGERS"
AND jump in pools?
She's having a hard time seeing that I actually got in the pool.  It's not hard when it's 100 degrees outside. :)
