Today I took Stevie and her friend to the movies. It was quite the adventure. We wanted to see "Coraline", it's a movie based on a children's book. As we sat there watching the previews...I couldn't help but think how dark and violent they were. Most were R rated too. I thought that odd and wrong that they would play those before a PG movie. Then the movie started. The opening scene had a masked man coming out of some darkened woods with the date "Friday 13, 1980" located in the bottom right hand corner. As soon as I saw that I grabbed both the girls hands and told them to RUN. (we were in the very front) I'm not sure what scared them more...the opening scene or me telling them to get out quick. The movie theatre started the WRONG movie. They were playing "Friday the 13th". I couldn't believe it. A theatre full of small children and they play THAT movie? It was somewhat disturbing.

oh my gosh!! I can't believe it. Yeah, that's not such a great movie to by mistake put into a theater where young kids are!! oops!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!?
Some teenager movie theatre employee's idea of a funny joke during school vacation week??!!??
Now you must tell the REST of the story...
holy movie mishap
(*although you did have me laughing about which the kids found more frightening*)
YIKES!
HOLY COW! I'm laughing and shivering at the same time! I'm glad you were able to "high tale it outa there!"
Glad you got out of the theatre in time. I would certainly complain about the movie. I wouldn't even watch that movie or anything like it. I'm not in to that scary thrill-chilling stuff. Give me a musical and I'm happy!
I would demand EVERYONES money back.
that is really stupid on the theaters part. It is hard to make that mistake, the movie reels are heavy and take effort to move around.
Was Friday the 13th playing in another theater?
Then what?? Did they apologize, did you get your money back??? Wow, goog thing you were paying attention!
You're FUNNY! I wish I could have been in the seat behind you.
Hope the rest of the birthday outing went well!
That is crazy! So, did they get it figured out and play the right movie, or did they refund tickets....gosh, that is aweful.
wow that is bad! I hope you got your money back. And so funny that you yelled run, and scared them. :)
Yikes...glad you realized that. I agree with you on the previews though. If it's a children's movie, the previews should be BETTER than PG rated themselves!
That single scene would give me nightmares for a week! Hopefully they refunded you and still let you watch Coraline.
Glad you caught that mistake. Did they put in the correct movie after you complained?
