My new (old) van acted up on the way home yesterday. The exhaust pipe fell off. I was too inpatient to wait for Steve to drive an hour to rescue me so I enlisted the help of my c0-pilot, (Kaleb)
Here's the lovely pipe - hanging
This was my first attempt at lifting the pipe off the ground. These lasted about 10 miles before the friction splayed them. What else to use? Hmmmm.....
How about some THAI WRAPS? Typically used for wrapping hands while punching bags...I found they came in handy for lifting pipes off the ground.*****
As crazy as our day was...Kaleb and I LAUGHED all the way home. We were a "Motley Crew". We even got pulled over by the police, who was apparently concerned that I wasn't aware of our hanging pipe. Seriously? 3 hours later, we finally made it home.
Never a dull moment with you. I love it! Glad all got home safely.
ReplyDeleteLOL the things that make wonderful memories. :)
ReplyDeleteIs'nt amazing that NOTHING is ever just simple??? Oh, by the way, love your fancy footwear!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had enough left to laugh. Glad your boy was there to help and not feel alone. It's always worse when we're alone.
ReplyDeleteThat really took some ingenuity--good for you. I'm glad you could laugh about it. Guess not much else to do other than to cry, and I'm sure you've done enough of that. Glad that Kaleb was there to help you out. I wonder if the police officer told his family at dinner about the incident. Glad you got home safely. Now it's a trip to the van doctor for repairs. Love you.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean that Ben was along for the ride, too?
ReplyDeleteJen - NO! Ben's still here, I just went home to see my family for the night.
ReplyDeleteI'm still laughing about that adventure! Your attitude is awesome! Hope you are feeling better today...LOVE YOU
ReplyDeleteThat warmed my heart-the thought of you and Kaleb laughing together. Nothing sweeter. Only wish I could have been there!
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU!
You are like MacGyver! You remember that show? :0) Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteYou and Kaleb make a good, inventive team who can pull a laugh out of a sticky situation. you both must be exhausted (pun intended).
ReplyDeletei have to admit, i probably would have waited (and cried) for an hour for my hubby to come rescue me....i am impressed with what you did!!!
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts and prayers are with you, hope Ben feels better soon and stay home longer than 8 days. (80 or 800 would be nice...)
